Child Swept Away in Flooded River

KANNUR: A child has been swept away in a canal near her house at Kozhiyode in Keezhpally in Aralam police station limits. Police said that one-and-a-half-year-old Diya Fathima, daughter of Suhail and Fathima of Kozhiyode,

was swept away on Friday in a canal linked to the nearby river. Rescue and search operations continued in the flooded river late on Friday. The heavy rain that started on Thursday continued unabated on Friday, inundating low-lying areas.
