KALPETTA: Two more shutters of the Banasura Sagar reservoir of the Kuttiady hydro electric project were opened on Sunday as the water level crossed 775.5 metres following heavy rain in the catchment areas.The shutters were opened by 15 centimetres, said officials. On Saturday evening, one of the shutters had been opened by 10 cm as a precautionary measure.
The full reservoir limit of the dam is 775.6 metres. People living adjacent to the catchment areas of the reservoir were asked to be on the alert for rising water levels following the release of water from the dam.
