Rains: Holiday for Schools in 5 Districts

KOCHI: Monday will be a holiday for all educational institutions in the district of Idukki, on account of heavy rains.

Holiday has also been declared for all educational institutions except professional colleges in the districts of Ernakulam, Kottayam, Palakkad and Alappuzha and taluks of Ponnani and Tirur.

It would, however, be a holiday for all educational institutions including professional colleges in Kuttanad and Thiruvalla taluks. All Higher Secondary/VHSE exams, scheduled for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, have been postponed.

Drowning deaths: Three boys went missing in Ponnanippuzha at East Chembra, Malappuram on Sunday.

While the body of Mohammed Rahisudden, 14, has been found, the search for others is continuing.

In Kottayam, Rajan, 55, a native of Thavalakkuzhy died after drowning in a canal.
