Student Police Collect Rs 26,000 for Sneha

KAKKANAD: In an effort to save Sneha, an eight-year-old child, struggling with heart and lung disorders for the last five years, the student police of Mar Athanasius School here has collected `26,001 with the help of their parents, teachers and police officials,  for her treatment.

Sneha, who belongs to a financially backward family at Kumbalangi, Ernakulam, was diagnosed with kidney malfunction at the age of three.

Later, her liver got affected, and tests conducted on her recently showed that she is also suffering from heart disease.

The doctors have suggested a combined kidney and liver transplant to save her life.

The total cost of the treatment is estimated to be around `50 lakh. The teachers will hand over this money to her parents.
