KARIPUR: Customs officials found 6.23 kg of gold abandoned at two separate spots in the Kozhikode International Airport here on Tuesday. The gold, found under the staircase of the terminal and inside the lift, will cost `1.83 crore in the market.
Gold weighing 2.23 kg was found under the staircase of the airport terminal during a routine inspection, soon after the passengers of an Emirates flight from Dubai left. The staircase leads to the customs hall from the emigration hall. Two gold bars weighing one kilo each were found wrapped in a mobile phone case and two gold biscuits of 116 grams each were packed separately.
