State BJP Plays Down Marginal Role

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Playing down the BJP national leadership’s neglecting the state BJP while constituting the new team of the party chief Amit Shah, BJP state president V Muralidharan has said that it was not a letdown or neglect and added that only very rarely does the state party get represented in the national leadership.

Speaking to ‘Express’, Muralidharan said only twice were state leaders inducted in the national leadership.

“It was after a span of over 25 years that a leader from Kerala got inducted in to the national leadership. It was long past in 1980s that Rajettan (O Rajagopal) was selected as a national functionary’’ he pointed out.
