NBW against C K Janu

KOCHI: The Ernakulam Chief Judicial Magistrate on Monday issued non-bailable arrest warrant against C K Janu, leader of the Adivasi Gothra Maha Sabha, after she failed to appear before the court for the trial of the Muthanga case. Janu is the second accused in the case registered by the CBI in connection with the murder of a policeman during the violence.

According to the CBI, the court has been examining the third witness in the case, and all the accused were asked to appear for identification.  Janu had failed to appear before the court on several occasions, prompting the court to issue non-bailable arrest warrant against her. The court has asked the CBI officials to bring Janu before it on Sept 29, when the case is posted for hearing. “Currently, the examination of a prime witness is going on. Since Janu didn’t appear before the court for the many hearings, the identification of the accused persons have not been completed,” officials said.
