KOCHI: The Ernakulam Chief Judicial Magistrate Court on Thursday framed charges against eight accused in one of the cases registered against LIS Deepasthambham.
The court framed charges against Kuriachan Chacko, 39, Achamma Chacko, 64, Joy John, 51, Linu Joy, 42, P V Chacko, 70, C G Reneesh, 39, Vinod V Luka, 41, and Susheel Joseph, 51.
The charges were framed following a complaint by a native of Udayamangalam. The complainant had invested Rs 4.63 lakh in LIS Deepasthambham, which was not returned to the complainant by the company.
The trial of the case will begin in the coming weeks. Several cases registered in the LIS Deepasthambham scam have been stayed by the High Court.
