THRISSUR : There is no need for confusion over the possibility of state government giving licence for new beer and wine parlours in the state, KPCC president V M Sudheeran has said.

He was speaking at the special meeting organised by the Kerala Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee on Wednesday, here.

“In the UDF meeting, there was an unanimous decision not to give any new licences for beer and wine parlours in the state. And there is no room for any confusion over the issue,” Sudheeran said at the meeting.

He also said that if the people were willing, complete prohibition could be implemented in the state as planned by the state government and the UDF.

However, Chief Minister OOmmen Chandy, who spoke in the meeting, did not address the issue.
