Will Serve Party, Says Sankaranarayanan

PALAKKAD: With the escort of police and security officials, senior Congress leader K Sankaranarayanan, who quit as Governor of Maharashtra, arrived at his house in Shekharipuram, here, around 2.30 pm on Wednesday.  Party workers and leaders, including  DCC president C V Balachandran, Shafi Parambil MLA, KPCC secretaries V K Sreekantan and C Chandran, received him.

 Sankaranarayanan told reporters that he was happy to be back in the home state. He also said that he will serve the party till he is able to do so. When asked about the differences of opinion among the ministers over the bar issue, he said it was common in a democracy. When pointed out Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala’s statement that when he was the party chief he had worked in tandem with the government, Sankaranarayanan said that he would not be able to comment on the issue as he has been out of the state for a long time.
