KSRTC Clears Two Months’ Pension Dues

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has cleared the pension arrears of two months. Transport Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan said that `76 crore was distributed to pensioners on Thursday as part of clearing the arrears.

 The amount, along with that for giving Onam benefits to the employees of the Corporation, was mobilised from the `59.85 crore sanctioned by the government, the remaining amount of  `10 crore after disbursing pension benefits and through loans from the financial institutions.

Together it needed `83.5 crore for giving salary, wages, festival allowance and Onam advance to the employees and the workers, he said. 

The Transport Minister on Tuesday announced that the pension arrears of two months would be cleared before Onam and the pension for the month of August would be distributed before September 20.
