EmerG App to Come to Your Rescue

KAKKANAD :  Emergency services - Ambulance, Police and Fire and Rescue- in  the state will now be just a click away thanks to ‘EmerG’, the android app developed by Gravity Technologies, a Kochi-based startup company.

The five youngsters, brains behind the app, developed the product to help people during emergency situations. The developers are Kiran Gopalakrishnan,

Junaid V J, Ajeesh C L, Vishnu Prasadand Bhavadasan.

The application is equipped with three icons of the aforesaid services. In case of emergency people only need to click on the icons and that will send an SMS or call to the control room with GPS location details along with users name and address. With this message, the control room can track the spot of the incident and can arrange the emergency facility with in short time.

The application will ask for the contact and other details of the users while installing it. The app can be downloaded from the Google play store.

The makers of the app said they were inspired to come up with EmerG when they happened to witness the state of a person who was hit by a vehicle at Thiruvananthapuram.

“The main function of this quick service is to initiate planning and response operation for disasters and other emergencies. There are so many peoples are dying owing to the lack of emergency procedures and the lack of interference from public to take them to hospital on time. The application will help public with just a click,” said Kiran, Chief Operating Officer,  Gravity Technologies.

The app is also helpful for women as they can send a distress message to the Police in case of any urgency. This system will also function in a moving training, bus or any other vehicle. If someone clicks on the icon it will  send the GPS location to the control room with seconds.

To run this service app in full swing, the support of Police, Fire and Rescue and the Ambulance service, is necessary.

“We have also approached the Ernakulam District Collector to run this app in the district.

He assured to extend all the support from the district administration. We hope to launch this product with a month and the updating of the same will be done within months with advanced facilities by adding other service provider agencies,” said Vishnu, Chief  Financial Officer.

The team also submitted the report to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and to  the ministers concerned seeking support of launch the product across the nation.
