GURUVAYUR: Two girls, studying in Plus-Two, were found dead in a well on Sunday noon at Thaikkadu near Chovalloorpadi here. The deceased are Greeshma, daughter of Kunduveettil Shankaran, and Ashwini, daughter of Areekkara Baby. Both the deceased were residents of Thaikkadu.
Greeshma, a student of Appunni Memorial School and Ashwini, a student of Koonamoochi Nirmala Mata School, were childhood friends. They were neighbours until last year. The neighbours and relatives, who went in search of the girls, found their footwear near the well of Thaikkadu Kokkannam Muthu on Sunday noon.
Guruvayur Fire and Rescue Services personnel scooped out the bodies of the duo and police conducted the probe. Guruvayur police said that the girls went missing at 4 am on Sunday and had committed suicide.
Mystery over Death
Guruvayur CI K Sudersan said that police have questioned the family members of both the girls but could not ascertain any reason to their apparent suicide.
