KANNUR: Adv Viswan also argued that though the name of Vikraman was included in the FIR, it was only on Thursday the Crime Branch could submit the chargesheet arraigning him as an accused based on witnesses’ testimony. Assistant public prosecutor K Ramakrishnan argued that Vikraman may be remanded in custody for 15 days considering the seriousness of the case and the need to gather further evidence. Replying to the request of Viswan to give instruction to the Crime Branch to avoid night questioning as it would amount to negation of Human Rights, the judge replied that the accused could approach the court if any complaint arose in that regard.
