Nat’l Talent Search Exam

KANNUR: The state-level National Talent Search (NTS) first-stage exam for class X students in all schools coming under Union Territory Puducherry, and National Means-Cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) exam for students of VIII standard in government and government aided schools will be held on November 9 in all four regions of Puducherry, including Mahe, Director of School Education, Puducherry,  said. Students in the top 10 ranks in the state-level NTS first stage will be eligible for the NTS second stage to be held on May, 10, 2015 in New Delhi. Students selected in the second stage will receive scholarship from XI standard to PhD from the Government of India.

In addition, the students selected in the first and second stages of the NTS will be awarded `5,000 and `10,000 respectively, as one-time cash prize by the Government of Puducherry, an official press release has said.

A total of 125 students, including three students from Mahe, will be selected in the NMMS exam for scholarships worth `6,000 per annum during their study from IX standard to XII standard by the Government of India. Application forms can be downloaded from www.schooledn.puducherry.gov.in till September 22. The applications should be submitted to the respective school principals on or before September 24.
