THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Planning Board has asked the Finance Department to sanction the state’s share in the Central schemes without waiting for the Central share, Planning Board vice-chairman K M Chandrasekhar has said. The decision is in the wake of the delay on the part of the newly-constituted NITI Aayog to finalise the funding pattern of Central schemes.
Chandrasekhar said on Monday that the State Planning Board had not imposed any restriction on fund allocation to Central schemes. “A meeting of the Planning Board, presided over by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on May 12, had discussed the issue. The meeting asked the Finance Department to sanction funds for all the schemes,” he said.
