

KOZHIKODE:Many might think, Ameer Hassan has come up with goods in his first attempt at Kerala Engineering Entrance examination, with a rank of forty. But the boy from Naduvannoor, was not one among the many. And a year later, Ameer proved it by acing his second attempt. Result: a second rank.

An alumni of Government Higher Secondary School, Kokkalloor, Ameer spent a year in Pala preparing for the entrance soon after he finished his Plus Two.
Son of Malood AMLP School headmaster Hassan C and Sajana, a housewife, Ameer wants to pursue Mechanical Engineering. His sister is doing MBBS at MES medical college, Perinthalmanna.Ameer’s friend, Sreerag, has bagged the third rank in the engineering entrance. Both of them had attended training at a centre in town, before moving to Pala. Sreerag, who secured a rank of 121 last year, wants to enter IIT, preferably in Mumbai or Chennai.
Son of Padmanabhan Namboodiri, a journalist and Lalitha K C, a bank employee, ‘Panat Illam’, Vilayil, Sreerag finished his schooling at Chinmaya Vidyalaya and Rahmaniya Higher Secondary School. His brother is a fourth-year mechanical engineering student at IIT Chennai.
Lisa Therese Bags First Rank
Perinthalmanna: Lisa Therese, a student of Sree Valluvanad Vidyabhavan, Perinthalmanna, has bagged first rank in the state Architecture entrance examination. Daughter of Dr Saju Varghese and Merry, she plans to join College of Engineering and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram.She thanked god, teachers and family members for her achievement. Lisa said she had been expecting to figure in the top 10 list.
