SABARIMALA:Kalabhabhishekam was held at Lord Ayyappa temple on the first day of the Malayalam month of Midhunam on Tuesday.
As part of the Kalabhabhishekam ritual, Thantri Kandararu Rajivaru conducted Brahmakalasa pooja at the Mandapam of the temple in the presence of Melsanthi Krishnadas Nampoothiri at 10.30 pm.
The ritual concluded with Kalabhabhishekam on the idol of Lord Ayyappa during Uchcha pooja after the procession carrying the Brahmakalasam led by the thantri and melsanthi circumambulating the Sreekovil.
Udayasthamana pooja, Padi pooja and Pushpabhishekam were the other rituals conducted on the first day of Midhunam.
Sahasrakalasam and Kalabhabhishekam will be the special rituals to be held on June 17.
In connection with the Sahasrakalasam to be held on June 17, kalasa pooja was held at Sopanam on the south of the Sreekovil under the leadership of the thantri and melsanthi at 7 pm on Monday.
Kalasabhishekam, marking the conclusion of the ritual, will be conducted on the idol of the Lord during Uchcha pooja.
Laksharchana will be conducted at the hill shrine on June 18 and 19.
