THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan on Friday wrote a letter to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, seeking his urgent intervention to save the Veterinary University at Pookkodu from the ‘autocratic ‘ style of functioning of Vice-Chancellor B Ashok.He alleged in the letter that Ashok’s activities had disturbed the academic as well as the administrative atmosphere of the university. He said that despite the resistance from teachers and students, the vice-chancellor was continuing with the arrogant attitude.Even four years after the formation of the university, the board of management had not been in place.Taking that as an advantage, the vice-chancellor was continuing with the undemocratic activities, he alleged.
‘Revoke Dismissal of Bank Officer’
VS Achuthanandan has asked the Dhanlakshmi Bank management to revoke the dismissal of Dhanlakshmi Bank Officers Organisation general secretary P V Mohanan.
“Mohanan who was serving as the national vice-president and state president of the AIBOC was dismissed from service without citing a valid reason,” the Opposition Leader said.
