Chandy: Kerala Government Needs Administrative Flexibility

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Amidst brewing resentment among  high-ranking police officials in the state over the recent promotion and reshuffle, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Wednesday said that the government should have “administrative flexibility” on such matters.

“There are no hard and fast rules on such appointments,” the Chief Minister told reporters when asked about why DGP-rank officers Rishiraj Singh and Loknath Behera were sidelined for the cadre post of Vigilance Director.

Asked about the senior police officials writing to the Chief Secretary, expressing their displeasure over the reshuffle, Chandy said that he could not comment on “hearsay”.
