'Posted Client Executive Prog Sponsor'

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Public Works Minister V K Ibrahim Kunju on Thursday told the Assembly that a Client Executive Programme Sponsor had been appointed for the ‘Core Road Network Programme’, which was aimed at economic development of regions.

He said that about 6,000 km of road would be developed under the network that would help in the socio-economic growth of the state. The programme would be implemented in four stages and a Client Executive Programme Sponsor had been appointed for implementing the first phase, he said.

The project is being implemented with  financial aid from World Bank. As per the project, a core road network comprising roads being developed under the Kerala State Transport Project, State Road Improvement Project, Sustainable and Planned Effort for Infrastructure Development and panchayat roads will be formed. With regard to NH development, he said that only 14.6% of land could be acquired.
