Kochi is another city in the State that is prone to flooding due to water-logging. The efforts to address the water-logging menace in the city should begin as soon as possible,” said Chief Secretary Jiji Thomson.

“The action should start after proper planning, before the rain starts. Learning a lesson from the Operation Anantha, there should be only one tender and one agency to take up the project. So, if it is launched in February, we could finish it before the rain starts. But, the elections may coincide with it, and then the administration would be busy with the election process.” “However, it should not hamper the initiative. A watchdog committee can be formed for the  purpose,” the Chief Secretary said at the Ernakulam Press Club here on Monday.
