SPL Team To Curb Unethical Loan Recovery

Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala said the government would put an end to the practice of Asset Reconstruction Companies entrusting the task of loan recovery with anti-social elements

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state government will constitute a special team headed by an officer of Superintendent of Police (SP) rank to deal with cases relating to exploitation of people by middlemen who arrange bank loans against property.

"People can approach the special teams for quick action on such cases," Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala told the Assembly on Monday while replying to a calling attention motion by V D Satheesan of the Congress. The Home Minister said that 16 cases had been registered in connection with the cheating of unsuspecting people by middlemen.

Chennithala said that the government would put an end to the practice of Asset Reconstruction Companies entrusting the task of loan recovery with anti-social elements.

7 Yuva Morcha Workers Injured in Lathicharge

T’Puram: Seven Yuva Morcha workers were injured as the Assembly march taken out by them on Tuesday  seeking resignation of Chuef Minister Oommen Chandy turned violent.  The injured are B G Vishu, Karamana Praveen and Kottukal Anand.
