PALAKKAD: A woman committed suicide after killing her two children by setting ablaze at their home in Pattambi at 8 am on Wednesday. The deceased are Jiji Krishna, 28, wife of Vimesh from Mukkalikunnathu House at Nattyamangalam in Pattambi, their daughter Vishnu Priya, 6, and son Vishnu Darshan,1. Jiji was living along with her husband, mother-in-law and children at the house.
“There were no issues in their family and she was well cooperative. Vimesh is a daily wage worker and she used to stitch garments at house. We have no clue why she did so. On Wednesday morning we hear the cries of them and black smoke was coming from the house. We rushed to the house but the front and back doors were closed and we couldn’t enter inside soon,” said Mohan Das, a neighbour.
Meanwhile, the police have said that the investigation is on. Pattambi police registered a case under Section 174 of IPC for unnatural death.
The bodies have been cremated after post-mortem examination at Thrissur Medical College.
