E-transfer System Launched in Wayanad to Disburse Kudumbashree Funds

KALPETTA:Wayanad has become the first district in the state to introduce e-Transfer system to disburse/transfer funds entrusted to the Kudumbashree Mission.

The new initiative is part of the Kudumbashree’s modernisation drive by introducing Information Technology services in its functioning. Until now, all the payments to the panchayat-based community development societies (CDS), local area development societies (ADS), Ayalkoottams (neighbourhood groups), subsidy to entrepreneurs and other financial assistance had been paid only through cheque.

With the introduction of the e-payment system, all the funds could be transferred directly to the account maintained by the CDSs under the District Kudumbashree Mission. “The new system would save time and effort as cash distribution can be done very quickly,” said District Mission Coordinator P P Muhammed. Notably, Wayanad was the first district to disburse monthly payments of Kudumbashree Mission workers through ATMs.

Under the system which was introduced last year, CDS chairpersons, CDS accountants, skill training and placement programme workers, MKSP block coordinators, and district mission employees were enabled to draw their salary and honorarium through the ATM. Kudumbashree Director P R Shreekumar launched the system in the district. State executive committee member S P Kunhahammed presided over the function. Assistant development commissioner E K Sudhakaran, Lead Bank manager N V Raveendran and NABARD DDM N S Sajikumar spoke.
