KOLLAM:Two persons died of asphyxiation when they fell into a septic tank at Pattazhy here on Sunday evening.
The deceased have been identified as Thankachan, 52, and Babu,45, of Pattazhy. According to Kunnicode police, the incident occurred when both were were attempting to clean the septic tank. Thankachan who first entered the pit using a ladder accidentally fell into the pit, three- quarters of which was filled with waste. Babu too fell into the pit while trying to save Thankachan. Though both were brought out of the tank, they were dead by then. The bodies being kept at the Kottarakkara Taluk Hospital mortuary.
