No Unilateral Decision on VHP Reforms

KOTTAYAM: Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) president M P Govindan Nair said that the board would not take a unilateral decision in letting male devotees wear shirts or vests inside temples that come under the TDB.

He was responding to queries from media on Viswa Hindu Parishad’s (VHP) decision to allow devotees to enter temples wearing tops. Though the board would give a serious thought into the matter, it would not insist for any particular decision from the top-level leadership, he said. “We will take a decision after getting the opinion of the public. If they are willing to endorse it, we will not have any hesitation to act on the decision,” he said.
