KOZHIKODE:Governor P Sathasivam, who is also the Chancellor of the Calicut University, has given sanction for a probe against university Vice-Chancellor M Abdul Salam and Pro-Vice-Chancellor K Raveendranath over a report submitted by VACB.
The VACB had submitted a probe report concerning the irregularities in the conduct of a practicals re-examination held at Nehru Engineering College, Pampady, Thrissur, in August 2012. PVC’s personal assistant’s daughter was one of the students who wrote the examination.VACB report had findings against the VC, Pro-VC, Pro-VC’s personal assistant Ramakrishnan N S and Ramakrishnan’s daughter. After the Vigilance report was published, the VC and Pro-VC approached the High Court, stating that they had legal immunity and should be removed from the case.The letter from the Governor’s office states that sanction was given to the VACB director to take up the investigation of the case.
