KOTTAYAM: A state steering committee meeting of the Kerala Congress (M) will be held at the party headquarters here on Friday. The meeting, to be chaired by Finance Minister and party chairman K M Mani, is expected to discuss the disqualification move against P C George, who is facing disciplinary action from the party leadership.
According to sources, the party leadership will submit a letter to Speaker N Sakthan on Monday, demanding disqualification of George as MLA, in continuance of the disciplinary action. The steering committee meeting is expected to discuss the matter and finalise procedures before approaching the Speaker. Earlier, a meeting of the party high power committee held on Tuesday approved the recommendations of a three member sub-committee, which looked in to the allegations of gross party indiscipline against George.
The sub-committee had Unniyadan as its chairman, Joy Abraham MP and Antony Raju as members.
