IDUKKI: A 17-year-old boy was arrested on charges of raping a minor girl at Thodupuzha here on Sunday.
The accused, hailing from Vannappuram here, was arrested following a complaint by the parents of the 16-year-old victim girl from the same area. According to the police, the boy took the girl to his house and sexually assaulted her. The victim was sent with her parents after carrying out the medical examinations.
The boy, who was charged with IPC 363 (kidnap), IPC 376 (rape) and other relevant sections of POCSO (Prevention of Children from Sexual Offence) Act, would be presented before the Juvenile Justice Board.
