'Review ESA Demarcation Measures'

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state government’s move to address the burning issues over the adoption of the Kasturirangan panel recommendations vis-a-vis the settler farmers in the state, has prompted KPCC vice president V D Satheesan MLA to question the sincerity of the UDF Government in protecting the Western Ghats in the state.

Satheesan.jpgHe urged the government to reconsider measures initiated of late regarding determination of (ecologically sensitive areas (ESA).Any measure that gives legal sanctity to disputed land under the control of individuals, when the final ruling of the courts and forest tribunal are still pending, would be detrimental,” he told ‘Express’.
