Rishi Raj Singh.jpgTHIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Home Department has issued a show-cause notice to ADGP Rishi Raj Singh over the alleged disrespect shown to Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala.  The police officer had courted a controversy when he failed to stand up or salute Chennithala, when the latter entered the dais at the passing out parade of women police personnel at the police  academy in Thrissur recently.    The officer has been asked to show cause with explanation at the earliest. The notice was issued on the basis of a report by Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Nalini Netto which found the officer had engaged in “improper behaviour”.  State Police Chief T P Senkumar had submitted a report to the Home Secretary, which said the official did not commit a lapse purposefully.  Chief Minister Oommen Chandy had earlier condemned the officer’s action and the latter’s explanation on the issue. Home Department sources said the notice was a formality before initiating action against the officer. The file pertaining to the memo was vetted by the Chief Minister.
