CPM Alleges Tampering of Voters' List

KOCHI: The CPM has warned of strong protests against the alleged attempts by the UDF-led panchayat council at Cheranellur to subvert the upcoming local body election by manipulating the voters’ list and threatening poll officials.

A statement issued by the CPM local committee alleged that the secretary of the panchayat was transferred as she did not play fiddle to the UDF plan to manipulate the voters’ roll.

It also alleged that attempts were on to transfer a junior superintendent for not cooperating with the ruling Front’s designs to subvert the election.
