THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Saturday instructed the Higher Education Secretary K M Abraham to take steps to provide all the retirement benefits including pension to Prof T J Joseph, the victim of the palm chopping case, who had served in teaching post at Newman’s College, Thodupuzha. In a statement, the Chief Minister also instructed the officials to issue the government order of the same immediately. As K M Abraham is out of station, a email containing all the details has been sent to him. The file regarding this matter will be presented in the cabinet meeting to be held on Wednesday and urgent steps will be taken accordingly. Joseph had his palm chopped off by a group in 2010, alleging blasphemy.
