VACB Chief's Charges Serious: Kodiyeri

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:  Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) director Vinson M Paul’s revelation about a nexus in the state involving corrupt politicians, bureaucrats and criminals is to be taken seriously, said CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan.

Kodiyeri said the VACB director’s statement that there was no operational freedom for the agency was a serious charge which exposed the complete anarchy prevailing in the govt.

Kodiyeri said that the government was not giving freedom to the police or the VACB to probe corruption cases. The said nexus is the result of the UDF rule, he said.

The CPM leader said the CM and the Home Minister were trying to scuttle a fair probe into the bar bribe case involving Ministers K M Mani and K Babu.
