RSP Distances Itself from Chandrachoodan's Remarks

KOLLAM: A day after T J Chandrachoodan, general secretary, RSP, lambasted the State government and the Congress’ Central leadership, RSP’s state wing distanced itself from his remarks by stating that Chandrachoodan’s comments were not the party’s opinion.

RSP leader Shibu Baby John, who aired his opinion through media on Tuesday, said he had ignored the remarks made by the general secretary and added that it would be discussed in the next state committee meeting. “The state wing of RSP is not against the government. We didn’t have the opinion that a cleaning drive is needed in the government. We reiterate our stance that the corruption allegations against some ministers were part of a large conspiracy against the government. Any way the general secretary’s remarks would be discussed in the state committee and the state secretary would reply to the same,” said Shibu Baby John.

He also added that KPCC president V M Sudheeran’s retaliation to Chandrachoodan’s remarks were righteous. “He attacked the Central leadership and they retaliated. In my point of view, it was righteous,” he said.

Chandrachoodan came down heavily on the State Government and Congress’ Central leadership the other day. He stated that many acts of the government had put the allies in ignominy and added that a cleaning drive was needed in the government.

In his attack on the Central leadership, he commented that inept people were leading the party now and the Congress had vanished from the national political scene after the Lok Sabha polls.
