THALASSERY:A man accused of sexually harassing a six-year-old girl of Palayad was arrested on Thursday. Ibrahim alias George, 58, of Kannara, Thrissur, was nabbed from an estate in Palakkad.
The cunning moves by senior civil police officer Bijulal and civil police officer Vinod who carried out an extensive investigation in Thrissur and Palakkad over the past several days, as per the directives of district police chief, led to the arrest. Ibrahim was produced before the court and remanded in custody, the police said.
The incident came to light on April 28. “The child revealed the incident of sexual torture from the accused, who is the husband of her mother’s sister, when the mother enquired about the reason for her physical uneasiness. Following this, the mother and the child came to Dharmadam police station and lodged a complaint,” the police added.
