THRISSUR: The fast track court here on Friday sentenced six out of the seven persons, who were convicted in the murder of Madhu Eacharathu, a Congress leader, to two terms of life imprisonment.
Double life terms were awarded to former Youth Congress leader Premji Kollannur, 28, Martin 29, Shinoj, 26, Praveeen,28, Prajith, 28, and Suresh, 29. Sanoop, 26, has been sentenced to life imprisonment. The verdict was pronounced by Additional District and Sessions Judge K P Sudheer.
Prosecutor Vinu Varghese Kachappilly said since the judgment does not say that the convicts have to undergo double life imprisonment consecutively, they would be serving the term concurrently. The accused in the case charged were charged under 1PC 302 for murder, 120 (b) for criminal conspiracy, 201 for causing disappearance of evidence.
