One Killed, Another Hurt

KOLLAM: A senior citizen was killed and another injured in an accident which took place at the Chinnakada Round here on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Ibrahim Kutty, 65, of Kulapadam, Kannanalloor.  According to the Traffic Police, the scooter in which Ibrahim Kutty was a pillion rider, was knocked down from behind by a speeding KSRTC Fast Passenger bus around 10.45 am.

In the impact Ibrahim fell on the side of the road and subsequently came under the wheels of the bus.

The police said that though he was rushed to the District Hospital he was pronounced dead. The injured has been identified as Shihab of Kulapadam. The police said that the duo was on their way to Ashramam.  Meanwhile, the bus driver fled the spot. Sources in the Traffic Police said that the search was on for a driver, who is yet to be identified. They also added that in order to identify the accused they would submit a letter to the KSRTC authorities on Saturday.
