THRISSUR: Considering a petition filed by M C Balan, represented by Adv Baby P Antony, to add the names of former minister K B Ganesh Kumar, Jacob Punnoose and Thrissur Mayor Rajan J Pallan in the National Games Vigilance case related to Thrissur Corporation Stadium, Vigilance enquiry commissioner and special judge K Haripal said that an investigation is in the process and that the petition could be considered only after the vigilance team submits the final report. An FIR has already been filed in the case, one of the earliest allegations in the National Games series, but the report is yet to materialise.

“There is a clear involvement of officials in the large scale soil mining from inside the corporation stadium. They had written off almost `33 Lakh for the procurement of sand for the pavilion, but the same officials are to be held responsible for soil mining from the stadium,” the petition noted.
