THRISSUR: Civic body here will come out with a detailed plan for the proper maintenance of Thrissur Corporation Stadium where the `5 crore-worth synthetic turf for football was laid for the conduct of the women’s football during the National Games.
At the council meet held on Tuesday the councillors came up with various suggestions for protecting the turf and for the construction of a synthetic athletic track around the football turf.
They demanded for the formation of a maintenance committee for the stadium. The detail plan report will be prepared jointly by the members of standing committees on education and finance.
The tendering process of the shops around the stadium will be conducted soon.
The Mayor said at the meeting that the present gallery of the stadium would be developed with shopping complex below it.
