Jiji Thomson Can be Charged: SC

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM/KOZHIKODE: The Supreme Court on Friday observed that Chief secretary Jiji Thomson can be charged for conspiracy in the palmolein import case. SC observed there’s no need to consider his plea seeking exemption from the case immediately.  Jiji, former managing director of Civil Supplies Corporation, is the fifth accused in the case.

Responding to the SC observation, Jiji said there was nothing unexpected in the court’s directive.
