Madani Arrives in Kerala, Sees Ray of Justice in Sight

KOCHI: Bangalore bomb blast accused and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Abdul Nasser Madani on Monday said there would be a new dawn in his life soon. Speaking to reporters at the airport here, he said heralding this new dawn, the rays of justice have started to dawn in his life.

“I have full faith in the judiciary and the court proceedings related to the case gained momentum with the intervention of Supreme Court,” he said in reply to a question on the recent remarks of the apex court on his long-drawn trial. He also used the occasion to thank the media and people of the state for extending support to him.

“I am very much excited to meet my parents and I thank the people of the state and lawyers who appeared for me at Supreme Court and the trial court in Bangalore for whatever justice I have received so far, he said.  He didn’t comment further on the long-drawn court proceedings and subsequent remarks of the Supreme Court as the case was sub judice.

He reached the airport by an Air Asia flight at 1.25 pm from Bangalore after he was granted five days respite by the Supreme Court to meet his ailing mother in Kerala. He was accorded a rousing reception by hundreds of party workers at the airport. Madani was accompanied by his wife Sufia, younger son Salahudheen Ayoobi, PDP state general secretary Muhammed Rajeeb, PDP working chairman Poonthura Siraj, vice-chairmen Swami Varkala Raj and Subair Sabahi.

Soon after he arrived at the airport, he observed his prayers at the terminal of the airport. Later, he left for Anwarssery in Karunagappally by road at 2.48 pm.  A special team of Karnataka police is also accompanying him in Kerala.
