KOLLAM: The Special Branch of Kollam Police on Monday seized 62 sacks of rice, each weighing 50 kg, and five sacks of wheat from a packaging centre operating from the city. According to Special Branch sleuths, the rice and wheat meant for public distribution was seized from a mini lorry stationed at Swathish Food Stuff Packing Centre. They said that in connection with the case, owner of the packing centre Reju, 34, was arrested.
150 empty sacks with the label of various rice exporting companies and a sewing machine were seized.
