THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Exhorting the party workers to uproot the ‘corrupt UDF Government’ which has been in power for the last four years, BJP national president Amit Shah has said that the workers should strive for bringing a change in the next Assembly elections.
Braving the torrential rain which lashed the capital city, Shah said the development of the state was possible only through BJP as both the ruling UDF and Opposition LDF had been cheating the people for the last several decades.
He said given the number of nurses working in various parts of the country and abroad one would think about the lack of opportunities for youths in Kerala. He said if the BJP came to power in the state it would provide employment to the youths in large numbers.
Since the Modi Government was heralding an all-round development and transformation, Kerala too should be ready for such a change, he said. “Narendra Modi’s development dreams should come true here too. I exhort the over 20-lakh strong party workers in Kerala to uproot the corrupt UDF Government and ensure a BJP Government in this beautiful state to bring in a change,” he said.
Compared to the UPA Government that ruled the country for 10 years, the Modi Government in just one year could achieve perceptible change in all sectors. Under the UPA Government, in 10 years,Rs 12 lakh crore worth resources and money were plundered. In Kerala, the UDF’s 4-year-rule is not different from the Manmohan Singh Government. Scams like palmolein, titanium, solar, nursing recruitment and bar bribery involving Finance Minister K M Mani are some instances. Ever since the BJP-led government came to power, the Opposition could not raise a single allegation against the Central Government.
Instead, the government has been able to mobilise Rs 2 lakh crore by auctioning just 20 of the 230 coal mines. Rs 1 lakh crore was mobilised from spectrum auction. Rejecting the allegations of BJP critics, he said the Modi Government stood for the benefit of the poor and downtrodden. He said the government introduced several welfare measures for the poor. Providing accident insurance worth Rs 2 lakh for a paltry premium of Rs 12 per year and life insurance worth Rs 2 lakh on a premium of Rs 330 was unprecedented. He said the Modi Government’s Make In India policy and skill development would bring in lakhs of employment opportunities.
