An LDF Constituent will Soon Join UDF, Says K P A Majeed

KANNUR:IUML general secretary K P A Majeed said on Sunday that one of the prominent constituents of LDF would join the UDF bastion soon.

Addressing a press conference in Kannur on Sunday, Majeed said that the constituent had already held discussions with the UDF. It only wants a proper consideration and decent behaviour  from the UDF, he said.

However, Majeed refused to name the party, citing that it would be too early tell anything. He said that his prediction would not go wrong and the inclusion of the party to UDF would occur within one year.

During a public meeting conducted as part of UDF North zone procession rally at Iritty  in the district, Majeed had reportedly claimed  that CPI may come into UDF fold in the future. When the mediapersons mentioned this, he denied such fact and refused to disclose the name of the party.

On the problems brewing in the Congress and the questions on changing the Chief Minister, he said  that IUML has nothing to say in it, as such decisions should be taken by the Congress high command. The differences can be amicably settled through discussions , he added.

Majeed expressed his confidence on UDF government’s chances of completing the full term following the grand reception that the party saw in North Malabar during the rally held in Kozhikode, Waynad and Kannur. He said the rally would enter Kasargod on Monday.

The rally is a clear indication of the government’s popularity despite the allegations raised against it, he said.

The mission of such rally is to popularise the various initiatives and measures implemented by the government for the welfare and development of the people, he said.
