Disrespect to National Flag: Kannur Police Books IUML Men

KANNUR: Police have registered a case against the office-bearers of the IUML Cheruparamba unit for insulting the national flag, which was used as a curtain, hung upside down, on the window panes of the office, at Kunnothparamba Panchayat in Kannur, on Sunday.

According to police, they received an anonymous complaint from local residents that the Indian national flag was used as curtain at the IUML unit office. 

Police, who reached the IUML unit office, CHS Soudham, Cheruparamba,  found that the national flag was used as a curtain.

Kolavallur SI E K Shiju  registered a case against the office-bearers of the IUML unit and registered a case under Section 2, Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971. Police will take the flag into possession and produce it at the court.
