Kerala Fire Tragedy: Helping Hand From Amritanandamayi

KOCHI: Mata Amritanandamayi on Sunday announced an aid package for persons injured in the fireworks tragedy that struck the State on Sunday, and relatives of the deceased.

In a statement, the Mata Amritanandamayi Math offered Rs 1 lakh each to families of the deceased, and Rs 50,000 to the injured. Also, those who suffered injuries in the accident will be provided free treatment at AIMS, Kochi. 

The Math has also decided to construct houses for the injured persons and families of the deceased who do not have own house.

hELPING.jpg“I am deeply shocked and saddened by the tragic accident that took the lives of so many innocent people, and caused severe injuries to hundreds of others,” said Amma said. “My heart reaches out to their families and near and dear ones. I have no words to console them, but can only shed tears along with them. With palms joined and with a heart filled with immense sorrow, I pray for the departed souls and for the peace of their loved ones. May relatives of the victims have the mental strength to bear the pain and move forward in life,” she said.

At Amma’s behest, Amrita Hospital immediately rushed three fully-equipped ambulances, along with doctors and paramedics, to the Puttingal Devi Temple, Paravur, to provide free medical aid to the needy.The temple is located only 45 km away from headquarters of the Mata Amritanandamayi Math.
