Bodo militant to be taken to Assam today

PALAKKAD: Bodoland leader Kormeswar Basumithri, lodged in the Sub-jail here, will be taken to Assam on Tuesday. Additional Superintendent of Police of Udalguri, Bedanta Prakash Barkakati, who is camping here, told ‘Express’ that there was a delay in getting clearance from the Director of the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security as it was a weekend in between. Now that it has been cleared, Kormeswar will be taken to Assam on Tuesday.Kormeswar who was a member of the banned organisation, National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB), was arrested from a factory in Kanjikode were he had been working for the last two months. It was the Assam police that had provided intelligence inputs to the Palakkad police which led to the arrest.
