KOZHIKODE: In a major haul, police have seized seven kg ganja and arrested one person from Koduvally here the other day. The arrested, Ashraf, 39, is a native of Manjeswaram in Kasargod district.
According to police, the accused was apprehended following information that he was about to make a deal with two of his agents near the Koduvally Community Hall.
“The arrest was made following several tip-offs on the increasing drug dealings in the town” says Koduvalli Circle Inspector A Premjith.
Almost 20 kg of ganja was seized by Koduvally police in past 45 days. “We have interrogated the culprit but the police are not convinced about his statements”, he added. The culprit was remanded to Kozhikode Sub Jail for 15 days.
